the world progress on the chosen SDG.

The latest findings in the 2021 Sustainable Development Goals Report:

COVID-19 is driving hunger and food insecurity even higher
COVID-19 has had an additional and profound impact on hunger and food security, due to disruptions in food supply chains, income loss, widening social inequalities, a changing food environment, and rising prices.

With little progress over the past 20 years, nearly one-third of women of childbearing age are still anaemic.

Anemia is a condition in which the concentration of hemoglobin is insufficient to meet the physiological needs of the body. In pregnant women, it increases the risk of negative outcomes for both the mother and the child. It may also be an independent risk factor for severe illness from COVID-19.
